February 2026<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

This year sees the start of our 19th<\/sup> year since the club was founded and during that time, we have been able to help many patients in their journey through recovery and beyond.\u00a0 Now we are seeing a growing number of younger patients who require help in different ways.<\/p>\n

If you feel you would like some support in whatever form, please make contact with the ABC Club and we will try to help if we can \u2013 don\u2019t forget we are group of fellow patients who know the challenges you face.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the known ways to help with recovery is to socialise and to that purpose we aim to provide some events throughout the year beginning with the first few as follows: –<\/p>\n

EPIC CHALLENGE<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will recall that our September 2025 newsletter informed you about Mark Harrington\u2019s latest venture to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.<\/p>\n

Well he completed this task successfully and raised the wonderful sum of \u00a34,000<\/strong> \u2013 well done Mark!<\/p>\n

\n

SOCIAL EVENING<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first of our regular evenings will take place in the Aylesford Unit at Warwick Hospital on March 3rd<\/sup> 2026<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Starting at 7.00pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 Refreshments are provided and we will have The Macmillan Team to talk about the support the Macmillan Information service can offer.<\/p>\n

Car parking is free in the Aylesford parking area \u2013 Don\u2019t forget to register the number.<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n

\n

AN INTRODUCTION INTO AUCTIONEERING<\/strong><\/p>\n

This will be a fun evening to be held on Tuesday 24th<\/sup> March 2026<\/span><\/strong> at Locke & England auctioneers 12 Guy Street, Leamington Spa CV32 4RT – arrive at 6.15pm ready for a 6.30pm start<\/strong>.\u00a0 You will be met with a glass of wine\/juice followed by an introduction to auctioneering after which there will be a little competition, the evening will be rounded off with light refreshments.<\/p>\n

This is NOT an auction night.<\/p>\n

Ticket price is \u00a310 per head and are on sale now and at the above social evening, or from John or Brian (details below).<\/p>\n

\n

SKITTLES NIGHT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The next skittles night will be held on the 21st April 2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>at the Leak Wootton Sports and Social Club.<\/p>\n

A FISH & CHIP supper is included.\u00a0 A menu selection will be issued with your ticket so that we can pre-order your choices.\u00a0 This is always a good social event so please come along and bring your friends.<\/p>\n
