Despite the restrictions under which we have been placed as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic during the past financial year, we have continued to provide help to a number of patients and carers, not all of whom have taken up those offers. It is appreciated that patients’ needs, and circumstances naturally vary from year to year, as result of which, expenditure will fluctuate.
The pandemic has also curtailed all our activities that generate income, a situation that is unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. Fortunately, our reserves will enable us to continue to provide support until such time that we are able to resume normal activities.
During the past year, we have funded ready meals, continence supplies, flowers and other gifts, and, as a result of our continuing innovative approach to finding new ways of helping patients, a course of Pilates. All of these have greatly assisted the recovery process.
All new patients now receive a wallet in which to store their initial patient information and on-going appointments, reports, etc..
This has only been possible due to the continued generous support of the Members and other benefactors. Your support of raffles has once again been magnificent, and we have also received a number of generous donations, two of whom were made by patients who felt the need to express their gratitude for the treatment that they had received from the hospital.
As we have once again benefited from Gift Aid, I am prompted to reiterate the benefits of gift-aiding, which effectively increases your donation by 25% without any additional cost to yourselves. If you are a UK taxpayer, and would wish your donation to be accepted as a Gift Aid Donation, may I please urge you to complete the Gift Aid Form, which is available to download here and return it to The ABC Club.
Thank you so much to those who have chosen the ABC Club as the recipient of your fund-raising activities and to the individuals who have so generously supported us. I look forward to a resumption of fund-raising once it becomes safe to hold meetings and group activities.
